Why Preservation Matters
Preservation matters because historic places are more than buildings — they are living reminders of the people, traditions, and moments that shaped our community. By protecting these spaces, we honor the legacy of those who came before us while ensuring future generations can continue to gather, celebrate, and create new memories within their walls. Every act of preservation safeguards the character, history, and cultural spirit that makes Austin unique.
Freedom: Legacy Giving at The Austin Club is about freedom — the freedom to preserve what matters most while thoughtfully building for the future. Through the trust and generosity of those who believe in the Club’s mission, Legacy Giving provides the ability to strengthen the foundation of the Millett Opera House, protect its historic legacy, and ensure The Austin Club continues to thrive for generations to come. More than a contribution, it is a lasting investment in the future, stability, and enduring spirit of the Club.

Sustainability: Sustainability ensures that what we build today continues to endure for generations to come. At The Austin Club, this commitment takes shape through the Endowment Fund—designed not for immediate needs, but to provide long-term strength, stability, and confidence for the future. As it grows, the Endowment becomes a steady foundation that supports operations, strengthens priorities, and allows leadership to plan and act with greater clarity and foresight.

Significance: The Scholarship Fund at The Austin Club is about significance — extending the legacy of the Millett Opera House beyond its walls and into the lives of future generations. By supporting young artists and emerging creative voices, the fund helps preserve the spirit of creativity, expression, and community that has defined this historic space from the beginning. More than a scholarship, it is an investment in opportunity, inspiration, and the future impact of the arts.

Transform Unused Treasures Into Historic Preservation
The Millett Opera House Foundation introduces a unique giving opportunity through Gold4Good, where supporters can donate unwanted or inherited jewelry to benefit the Millett Legacy. Donated precious metals are recycled and refined, with proceeds supporting the organization’s mission while offering donors a meaningful and environmentally conscious way to give back.
