The Millett Opera House Foundation is dedicated to the preservation, restoration, interpretation, and future stewardship of Austin’s historic 1878 Millett Opera House — home of The Austin Club and one of the city’s most important surviving landmarks.

Millett Legacy Luncheon

The Millett Legacy Luncheon is more than an annual gathering—it is a commitment to preserve one of Austin’s most treasured historic landmarks while investing in the future leaders, artists, musicians, and visionaries who will shape our community for years to come.

Since 1878, the historic Millett Opera House has stood at the heart of Austin’s story. Within these remarkable walls, ideas have been exchanged, friendships have been forged, and leaders have gathered to celebrate the people and moments that define our city. Today, The Austin Club is honored to serve as the steward of this extraordinary landmark, ensuring that its history is preserved while its next chapter is thoughtfully written.

Proceeds from the luncheon support the preservation and long-term sustainability of the historic Millett Opera House while establishing the Millett Foundation Scholarship Fund to benefit students in The University of Texas at Austin College of Fine Arts. Every scholarship awarded becomes a living extension of the Millett Legacy, helping talented young artists, performers, designers, and creative leaders pursue their dreams while honoring the artistic spirit that has always defined this historic building.

We are honored to welcome Gay Gaddis as our featured speaker. As an entrepreneur, author, artist, and visionary leader, Gay embodies the courage to dream boldly and the determination to build something that lasts. Her story reminds us that every enduring legacy begins with someone willing to invest in the future.

The Millett Legacy Luncheon is not simply about raising funds. It is about preserving history, creating opportunity, and ensuring that one generation reaches forward to lift up the next. Every sponsorship, every table, every auction item, every Golden Ticket, and every gift becomes part of a much larger story—a story that will continue long after the luncheon has ended.

When many people each do Just One thing, remarkable things happen. Together, we preserve a landmark. Together, we open doors for deserving students. Together, we build a legacy that will inspire generations yet to come.

We invite you to join us in this extraordinary mission.
